POWER BOOK 2 is almost at its mid-season hiatus over with just one more instalment left to go. So when will the Starz spin-off series make a comeback?
Power Book II: Ghost is the first of four spin-off shows set in the same world as the original Power series on Starz. The drama focuses on what happened just a few weeks after James “Ghost” St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) was murdered at Truth nightclub. Even though Ghost is now dead, he still seems to be causing trouble from beyond the grave.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Power Book 2.
Power Book 2 started on Sunday, September 6 on Starz. The series began with Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) behind bars for Ghost’s murder and Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) settling down to his new college life.
Feeling guilty his mother was prison because of him, Tariq decided he had to get the best lawyer money can by to help get her out. But to be able to afford defence lawyer Davis Maclean (Cliff “Method Man” Smith), Tariq opted in to follow his father’s career path.
Tariq started building his drug operation at his school, selling product to students on campus. He and friend Brayden (Gianni Paolo) have set up CourseCorrect, an app which provides tutoring.
This side hustle acts as a front though as the real money comes from selling drugs to their classmates through the app.
Drug queenpin Monet Tejalda (Mary J. Blige) is eager to keep an eye on Tariq though, getting her daughter Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) to try and dig for information.
When will Power Book 2, episode 6 return?
While it might feel like the spin-off show has just started, the series is almost halfway through.
The midseason finale of Power Book II will be shown on Starz on Sunday, October 4, at 9pm and on Starzplay globally from midnight on the same day.
After this, there will be a break before the next lot of five episodes are shown on the network. Unfortunately, when these new episodes will be released hasn’t been announced just yet.
No details have been revealed as of when Power Book II: Ghost will continue on Starz. According to IMDB though, the rest of the series will air in 2020.
So there shouldn’t be too much of a wait to find out what happens next. Power fans are also looking forward to the other spin-off series which will be making its way to the network.
As well as Power Book II, there are three other spin-off shows in the pipeline. These will be Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force but it looks like the previously-announced Power
Book IV: Influence will no longer be going ahead.
Power Book III is the only prequel out of the new series which will be about Kanan Stark’s (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) childhood.
Force will revolve around what Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) got up to after leaving New York and Influence was supposed to be about Tate’s (Larenz Tate) slow rise to political power.
Power Book 2 is available to watch on Starz.
